A fatal accident  has claimed the lives of  six persons, including a pregnant woman, in the Enugada area of Lafenwa, Abeokuta-North local government area of  Ogun State.

The incident occurred late Thursday night.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the  tragic incident occurred when a truck reportedly lost control, rammed  into vehicles, pedestrians, and other road users, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

Eyewitnesses at the scene recounted the horrifying moment ,saying  the truck which  was moving at high speed, veered off its path and rammed into unsuspecting victims.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the  collision was so severe that the bodies of the victims were gruesomely mangled, with some sustaining injuries that led to instant death.

A viral video obtained by PLATFORM TIMES showed the lifeless body of a pregnant woman whose legs were crushed beyond recognition, lying on the cold pavement.

The video also captured the harrowing sight of an Okada rider, whose head was similarly crushed in the impact.

Another young lady, believed to be in her twenties, was also among the casualties, her body severely damaged from the abdomen down.

The chaotic scene drew a large crowd of onlookers, many of whom expressed shock and dismay at the devastating loss of lives.

The Enugada area, known for its bustling activity during the day, was transformed into a site of tragedy as emergency responders struggled to manage the aftermath of the crash.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident but, as of the time of filing this report, had yet to release detailed information regarding the circumstances surrounding the crash.

However, initial reports suggest that the truck involved may have experienced a brake failure, leading to the driver losing control and causing the fatal accident.

Residents of the area have since called on the Ogun State government to implement stricter traffic regulations and ensure that heavy-duty vehicles are thoroughly inspected before being allowed to ply the roads, especially in densely populated areas
