In a heartbreaking incident that unfolded in Magboro, located in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, residents were plunged into mourning as a truck accident resulted in the tragic death of a pregnant woman and left her two-year-old child hospitalized.

The unfortunate incident occurred when a truck, bearing the registration number TTD-643ZY, suddenly veered into Magboro market after suffering a brake failure, causing the driver to lose control.

Our correspondent, who arrived at the scene around 10:40 am, witnessed the aftermath of the accident, which included the truck colliding with a car and a motorcycle becoming trapped beneath it.

Reports indicate that the woman had come to the market to purchase food items moments before the terrible accident unfolded.

An anonymous eyewitness recounted the incident, stating that the victim attempted to protect her child by fleeing from the approaching truck but was hindered by her gown. Tragically, she fell, and the truck tragically crushed her.

Another witness mentioned that the motorcyclist, whose motorcycle was trapped under the truck, narrowly escaped death by quickly abandoning his vehicle.

Upon reaching out to the spokesperson for the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Florence Okpe, for additional information, it was stated that the report would be sent as soon as the rescue operations concluded.

As of the time of filing this report, our correspondent has not received further updates, as calls to the spokesperson’s phone have gone unanswered, and a text message sent remains unacknowledged.
