Chelsea have kept the No. 9 shirt vacant amid their links to Victor Osimhen this summer.
The Premier League club confirmed new shirt numbers for some players.
Raheem Sterling, who is being linked with a move away, saw his No. 7 shirt given to new boy Pedro Neto.
Another new signing, Joao Felix, was handed the No.14 shirt, which was previously worn by Trevor Chalobah.
However, no current squad member has been given the No. 9 shirt.
Until the transfer window shuts at the end of August, the Chelsea squad numbers remain subject to change.
Chelsea are in the market for a striker and failed in their attempt to sign Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid.
They are now in talks to try to land Osimhen from Napoli. The Nigerian does not want to have a loan deal without an obligation to buy and will not lower his salary demands.
