Chelsea winger, Raheem Sterling does not want to leave the club despite reportedly being declared surplus for requirement.

He has no desire to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, according to Givemesport.

DAILY POST reports that the player released a statement shortly before Chelsea’s Premier League opener against Manchester City on Sunday, restating his commitment and dedication to the club.

Sterling has not been in his element since moving to Stamford Bridge from Manchester City a couple of summers ago.

Enzo Maresca’s move from Leicester City as the new boss at Stamford Bridge has raised doubts about the England international’s future.

There are already doubts that the 29-year-old will not be part of the Italian’s plans and won’t fit into his tactics at Stamford Bridge.

Maresca left him out of his matchday squad for last weekend’s clash, sending the rumour mill into overdrive.

Italian giants, Juventus are said to be interested in the 29-year-old, who also has admirers in the Middle East.

However, Sterling wants to stay and fight for his place under Maresca, according to the report, and will seek clarity regarding his future from the Italian manager.
