Former Tottenham Hotspur defender, Michael Dawson, has expressed his surprise that ‘big-spending’ Chelsea have not signed Brentford’s Ivan Toney, who is linked with Arsenal and Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window deadline.
Chelsea recently completed their 11th summer signing earlier this week.
The Blues have signed the likes of Pedro Neto, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Tosin Adarabioyo and Joao Felix this summer.
Speaking on Toney’s future on Sky Sports amid his possible departure from Brentford this summer, Dawson said: “I would be surprised [if Toney is still a Brentford player by the end of the window].
“Brentford are trying to get money as he is going into his final year.
“I am a massive fan of Ivan Toney. I cannot believe another Premier League club has not come in to get him. The Chelsea’s. Chelsea sign everyone!”
