Arsenal left-back, Nuno Tavares, has revealed that the club’s former midfielder Matteo Guendouzi convinced him to join Lazio on loan this summer.
Tavares and Guendouzi are set to line up together once again for Lazio.
The Portuguese joined Arsenal from Benfica in 2021 and made 28 appearances for the Premier League North London club.
He had loans at Marseille and Nottingham Forest in previous seasons.
Speaking on why he joined Lazio, Tavares said (via HITC):
“He (Guendouzi) had a fundamental role. We spoke three times, and he convinced me to make this choice.
“I want to play as much as possible because my goal is to win matches and trophies.
“I feel much better, I’m doing everything I can to get back as soon as possible.”
