Nigeria’s Flamingos started their campaign at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup with a 4-1 victory over New Zealand.
The Flamingos scored three goals in the opening 28th minute of the game.
Shakirat Moshood got Nigeria in front after two minutes, while Taiwo Adegoke doubled the lead 11 minutes later.
Fareedat Abdulwaheeb’s brilliant lob caught the goalkeeper off guard in the 28th minute to make it 3-0 in the first half.
Taiwo Afolabi netted the fourth goal 10 minutes into the second half.
However, New Zealand pulled a goal back through Hannah Saxon on the hour mark.s
The Flamingos will take on Ecuador in their next game on Saturday.
