No fewer than 566 students including the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Elvert Ayambem Ekom, have been expelled by the management of the University of Calabar over poor Cumulative Grade Point Average.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that Ayambem who represents Ikom 2 State Constituency in the Cross River Assembly got was expelled for his poor performance .
The expulsion of Ayambem and 565 students was announced by the UNICAL on Tuesday.
The expulsion of the students cut across 100 to 400 levels, affecting 15 faculties and departments of the university.
