Voting for the governorship and state assembly candidates has commenced fully in major parts of Ogun state.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the voting exercises are expected to commence at 8:30 am.
About 2.2 million people are expected to vote at 5,042 polling units today in Ogun State.
PLATFORMTIMES reporters on the ground at respective polling units confirmed the commencement of the electoral exercises.
Officials Remove Posters, Start Voting Exercise
At the Obafemi Owode LGA, Sodubi Polling Unit about 7.40 am, 20 minutes before the commencement of the electoral process, INEC officers commenced the removal of campaign posters which is less than 10 meters from the polling unit.
The INEC staff addressed party agents as proper arrangements had not been made to kick-start the electoral process.
In Abeokuta North/ South, Obada market Polling unit, the INEC officials arrived at the Obada market polling unit and immediately commenced the removal of campaign posters in the vicinity.
Immediately they arrived at the polling unit, 1 INEC Staff and one Ad-hoc staff from the National Youths Service Corps swifted into action at the polling unit.
Also, Egunrege polling unit, Ikenne in the Ogun East axis of the state, which is the polling unit where the Nigeria Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo, should vote, has commenced accreditation and voters are ready to exercise their franchise.

Officials of INEC, has begun election arrangements in Agbagi open space polling booth, with code 022, Ososun, Ifo Ogun State.
At this polling unit, residents are yet to come out as people on ground are just the party agents and some people making the arrangements.
As at the time of filling this report, we can confirm that voting has started in some areas under Abeokuta South, Abeokuta North, Obafemi-Owode, Ifo, Ipokia.
There were however complaints of security presence at polling units. While the presence of one, two polling units are observed, some polling units have no presence of security operatives
