The Centre for Islamic Propagation in Africa (CIPA) has called for restraint and support for the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, in the wake of technical hitches recorded during the recently concluded 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement signed by its Amir and President, Ustaadh Uthman Abdul Quadr .O., CIPA noted that while computer-related glitches disrupted examinations in some centres, it would be unfair to use the incident as a tool for criticism against the JAMB boss.
“It is no longer news that the 2025 UTME experienced technical errors in some centres across the country despite JAMB’s solid preparations.
However, this unforeseen glitch should not be politicised or turned into an avenue for condemnation,” the group stated.
The organisation, headquartered in Abeokuta, Ogun State, commended Prof. Oloyede’s leadership and unwavering commitment to transparency and innovation, describing him as “a hero of repute and a goal-getter.”
CIPA lauded Oloyede for his proactive response in taking responsibility and swiftly rescheduling the affected candidates from 157 centres, describing the move as both timely and commendable.
“This development is also a reminder of the need to prioritise and adequately fund the education sector in Nigeria,” the group added.
CIPA urged all stakeholders to support JAMB in its mission to ensure credible and seamless tertiary admissions in the country.
“Prof. Oloyede should not be discouraged. We encourage him to remain focused and undeterred in his reform-driven agenda,” the statement read.
Concluding, the organisation offered prayers for divine guidance and strength for the JAMB Registrar, while reaffirming its support for his administration.
