A 43-year-old woman identified as Gift has been arrested by the Rivers State Police Command for allegedly biting off the tip of her lover’s manhood during a heated argument over sex.

The incident occurred on Thursday, May 15, along Bishop Okoye Street in the Mile 3 area of Diobu, Port Harcourt.

According to eyewitness accounts, the altercation began when the man, identified simply as Sunday, allegedly demanded sex from Gift.

She reportedly refused, accusing him of routinely using sexual performance-enhancing drugs, which she claimed made their encounters excessively prolonged.

A resident who spoke to The Punch on condition of anonymity said, “Mr. Sunday became angry and allegedly attacked his partner over her refusal. In the scuffle, the woman managed to grab his manhood with her mouth and bit off the cap.”

The victim’s cries for help drew the attention of neighbours, who intervened to prevent the situation from escalating further.

Some reportedly attempted to mob the woman before police officers from the Nkpolu Police Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, arrived at the scene.

Gift was rescued from the crowd and taken into custody by the police.

Sunday was immediately rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Port Harcourt where he is receiving urgent medical treatment.

Confirming the incident, spokesperson of the state police command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said: “Yes, I can confirm the incident. The woman, aged 43 years, has been arrested and investigation is ongoing.”

The police have yet to disclose whether charges will be filed as investigations continue.
