A 25-year-old woman has been killed and 10 others injured in a shooting incident at the central bus station in Beersheba, southern Israel, local authorities confirmed.

The suspected gunman was shot dead by police at the scene, which they are treating as a “suspected terror attack.”

Footage circulating online appeared to show several victims inside a nearby McDonald’s.

Israel’s ambulance service reported that 10 people are being treated for injuries, including gunshot wounds.

One woman is in “moderate to serious” condition, while four others are reported to be in “moderate” condition. All have been transported to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba for treatment.

In response to the attack, Israel’s transport minister, Miri Regev, called for stricter measures, including the deportation of terrorists’ families.

“The time has come for a deterrent punishment to prevent the attacks on Israeli territory,” Regev wrote on X.

This incident comes less than a week after seven people were killed in a shooting and knife attack in Tel Aviv.

Israeli authorities said they are on high alert as the first anniversary of Hamas’s October 7 assault on southern Israel approaches, marking the beginning of the ongoing Gaza conflict.
