Residents of Jos, Plateau State, were thrown into shock on Tuesday following the apprehension of a woman accused of abducting three children in the Staff College area of the city.

In a viral video circulating on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the unidentified woman is seen seated on the ground, flanked by the three children she allegedly kidnapped. She is surrounded by a crowd of irate onlookers who questioned her aggressively while recording the incident.

Eyewitnesses claim the woman was caught shortly after she allegedly lured the children away from their vicinity. The children were eventually rescued unhurt, thanks to the swift intervention of vigilant residents.

The video, which has garnered widespread attention, sparked outrage online with many Nigerians expressing anger and concern over the growing insecurity, particularly threats against children.

Reacting to the incident, an X user, @OpinionwithNiel, wrote, “Wahala no dey finish for this country. Imagine kidnapping kids like they’re groceries. Plateau needs serious spiritual and security cleansing asap!”

Another user, @RawNature73784, said, “That’s absolutely heartbreaking. Thank God the children were found. We need stronger community awareness and swift justice to keep our little ones safe.”

@krossmediang lamented the perceived failure of security agencies, stating, “If not for vigilant community people, where are the police in intelligence gathering?”

The Plateau State Police Command is yet to release an official statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.

However, concerned residents have called for a thorough investigation and prompt prosecution of the suspect.
