Police operatives in Adamawa State have nabbed a 37-year-old woman, Fatima Abubakar, for allegedly torturing a 2-year old girl and another little child, a boy.

The children who are her husband’s kids, are under her care.

Fatima, who hails from Sanda, a community in Makama B Ward of Yola South Local Government Area, was nabbed by the police for torturing the kids for urinating and defecating in the room.

The woman, said to have no children of hers yet, has confessed to the Police that she physically assaulted the children.

Her act got to the police when her neighbours reported it and stressed the point that the woman was in the habit of torturing the kids and denying them food.

The neighbours, according to the police, said they were fed up with the woman’s attitude, especially after she warned them to stop interfering in her affairs.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed on Monday that the woman was arrested on Saturday, October 5, after what he described as “a tip-off from concerned community members.”

Nguroje said that the state Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, had ordered that the accused be charged to court to answer for her act.
