…Launches mega development initiative in Bali/Gassol constituency
Member representing Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency of Taraba State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jaafaru Yakubu, has rolled out a large-scale empowerment initiative targeting critical sectors of community life, including health, agriculture, youth development, and access to clean water.
The programme, which held in Bali Local Government Area on Saturday, attracted a massive turnout of beneficiaries, traditional rulers, youth groups, religious leaders, and political stakeholders from across the constituency.
At the event, Yakubu distributed 23 mini ambulances to boost emergency healthcare response, 80 motorcycles to enhance youth mobility and productivity, and 20 cars for community support and logistics.
In a bid to strengthen agricultural productivity, the federal lawmaker also provided mini tractors, solar-powered and gas-powered water pumps, alongside other farming tools and equipment.
To further drive local infrastructure development, Yakubu commissioned a 10,000-capacity solar-powered overhead water borehole designed to expand access to potable water in the community.
He also donated vehicles for cemetery services—an intervention described by community leaders as timely and humane.
Places of worship also benefited from the initiative, with the donation of solar inverters to mosques and churches to promote the use of renewable energy. Football jerseys were distributed to grassroots teams in a move aimed at fostering youth participation in sports and communal unity.
Speaking during the event, Yakubu said the empowerment project was part of his commitment to effective and inclusive representation, adding that the intervention was tailored to meet both immediate and long-term needs of the people.
“This is not just about distributing items—it’s about building sustainable livelihoods, supporting vulnerable groups, and laying the foundation for long-term growth in our communities,” he said.
Residents and stakeholders described the gesture as unprecedented, hailing Yakubu’s intervention as a model for other public office holders.
A community leader, Malam Abubakar Gassol, said: “This is the first time we are witnessing this level of attention and investment from our representative. It shows he is not just in Abuja for himself, but for the people.”
The lawmaker’s media team noted that more projects would be unveiled in the coming months as part of Yakubu’s legislative agenda for inclusive development.
