In a dynamic showcase of youth leadership and engagement, the Yewa Youth Leadership Conference concluded its three-day run, leaving attendees invigorated and inspired.

Hosted at ASUP Hall, Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, the event organized by the Yewa Youth Association brought together young leaders, activists, and changemakers from diverse backgrounds across Yewaland to engage in vital discussions on leadership, civic responsibility, and citizen participation.

The conference began with a warm welcome from Com. Abduljabar Ayelaagbe, President of the Yewa Youth Association, who emphasized the importance of building lasting relationships among participants.

Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented by Mr. Olaolu Olabimtan, Special Adviser on Budget and Planning, delivered the opening address, urging attendees to strike a balance between education and entrepreneurship, drawing from his own experiences.

Two captivating keynote addresses set the tone for meaningful discussions. Dr. Funmilayo Oyefusi of FTI Consulting emphasized innovation, collaboration, and youth-led initiatives in her talk on “Building Youth Capacity for Effective Participation in Local Governance and Community Development.”

Dr. Olawunmi Adekunle discussed border security issues and advocated for border dialogue as a solution to security concerns in Yewaland.

The conference featured three panel sessions focusing on leadership, business, and border security.

The Leadership panel highlighted the importance of Yewa youth’s involvement in community development.

The Business panel aimed to ignite entrepreneurial zeal among participants, featuring insights from Mrs. Funmilayo Adetayo and Dr. Tunde Allinson.

The Security panel tackled pressing border issues, drawing attention to challenges like the indiscriminate use of firearms by Customs officers.

Paramount Ruler Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle praised the conference as a historic moment of unity for Yewa youths, emphasizing their bright future.

Professor Rahmon Bello, represented by Mr. Bamidele Obafemi Akinola, discussed regional challenges and the commitment of Yewa People’s Development Council (YPDC) to education and skills acquisition.

The event saw attendance from royal figures across Yewaland and prominent guests, including Governor Dapo Abiodun, Dr. Isiak Kunle Salako, and Deputy Speaker Hon. (Mrs.) Lateefat Ajayi, among others.

The success of the Yewa Youth Leadership Conference, attended by nearly a thousand participants from diverse Yewa communities, underscores the potential of the next generation.

The energy, passion, and dedication displayed during the event promise lasting impact and positive change in Yewaland.

As the conference’s ideas and connections continue to spark transformative initiatives, Yewaland looks toward a brighter and more inclusive future.

The momentum gained here will drive progress, embracing challenges and opportunities with the same vigor and determination that characterized this remarkable conference.

Together, Yewaland is poised to shape a promising and inclusive tomorrow.
