Your allegation against us baseless – NANS Senate President tells Adeyanju

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS has described the allegations against the association by Deji Adeyanju as baseless.

The association condemned the recent comments made by Adeyanju, an activist and lawyer, where he said the student body was dead.

DAILY POST gathered that Adeyanju had a few hours ago condemned NANS for threatening to embark on protests over the increment in the price of Premium Motor Spirit also known as Petroleum.

Adeyanju in his post on X noted that NANS is dead but the NANS Senate President, Afeez Babatunde Akinteye in his reaction described Adeyanju’s statement as baseless.

Akinteye in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Friday, noted that NANS is not a corrupt union.

He asked Adeyanju to direct his energy to more positive things, noting that the lawyer’s statement is unfortunate.

Akinteye in the statement said, “We remind Adeyanju that NANS is not as corrupt as the very profession he represents—lawyers, who are known to help corrupt politicians escape judgment and deliver irregular verdicts.

“Adeyanju, like many in his profession, has been part of a system that provides conflicting judgments to save politicians from corruption trials, ensuring that justice is never truly served. It is hypocritical for someone whose career is built within such a framework to point fingers at NANS.

“We suggest that Adeyanju redirect his energy toward cleaning up the mess within his profession, where the progression of cases often hinges on manipulation, favor, and irregular rulings”.
