Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmad Bamalli, has broken his silence over the Zazzau Emirate crisis, saying the ex-Wazirin Zazzau, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad-Aminu, had absconded from duty seven months to the termination of his appointment.

The royal father made this known during a courtesy visit by officials of Media Trust Group led by Yusuf Jidda Jama’are, Kaduna Regional Head and Bashir Rabe-Mani, Kaduna Zonal Manager for the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at the Emir’s Palace in Zaria.

Bamalli said the ex-Wazirin Zazzau stayed away from the palace for seven months before being officially sacked by the state government.

He said before the termination of appointment, “I personally constituted a delegation comprising the council members under the leadership of Alhaji Nuhu Aliyu Magaji  Galadiman Zazzau to meet the ex-Waziri over his absence.”

“The ex-waziri told the delegation that he would come back to his duties, unfortunately he did not return to the office.

“After some time, I sent the delegation again to meet the ex-waziri over his persistent absence but there was no response from him this time. In fact, he was harsh on them despite their position and age.

“I therefore had no option than to formally write to the state government over the matter, and subsequently his appointment was terminated,” the Emir revealed.

Bamalli however expressed dismay with some sections of the media for reporting that the ex-waziri was victimized or witch-hunted.

Speaking on his emirship selection process, the royal father said in spite of all that transpired, he remained very pleased with the kingmakers even though none of them voted for him.

He said the media was expected to dig deep and find out what exactly happened in the process of selecting the Emir of Zazzau in 2020 and how he was finally appointed rather than engaging in unnecessary speculation.
