In the spirit of gratitude and devotion, the League of Imams and Alfas, Ogun State, has issued a heartfelt message to Muslims worldwide as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitri, marking the end of Ramadan.
Led by Shaykh Sikirullahi Babalola, President General of the League, and supported by the Grand Chief Imams of Egbaland, Ijebuland, and Remoland, the message emphasizes the significance of this joyous occasion beyond mere celebration.
The statement signed by the Secretary General of the league,Imam Tajudeen Adewunmi Mustapha, was released following the Eid El Fitr celebration held on Sunday all.over the world.
The statement read “we praise Allah, the Most Gracious, for granting us the strength to complete the sacred month of Ramadan,” expressed Shaykh Sikirullahi Babalola.
“This completion is not just a cause for celebration but a moment of deep reflection and rededication to our faith and values.”
Amidst the festivities, the League calls for unity and renewed commitment to the principles instilled during Ramadan: patience, empathy, and service to humanity.
The message acknowledges the challenges facing Nigeria today—economic hardship, insecurity, and social instability—and urges all citizens to remain steadfast in prayer for divine intervention and guidance for leaders at all levels.
“We must embody honesty, integrity, and compassion,” stated the League. “Contributing positively to our communities and upholding justice are paramount in these trying times.”
While recognizing government efforts, the League underscores the need for policies and programs that prioritize the welfare of the people.
Urgent appeals are made for enhanced economic stability measures, improved healthcare infrastructure, and strengthened security initiatives to safeguard communities from criminal elements and health threats like Lassa fever.
“Eid-el-Fitri is a time for gratitude and renewed commitment,” emphasized Imam Tajudeen Adewunmi Mustapha, Secretary General of the League.
“As we celebrate, let us continue to support the needy and foster peace in our society.”
The League concludes with prayers for peace, security, and prosperity in Ogun State and Nigeria, imploring Allah to grant leaders wisdom and sincerity in governance.
