As part of his continued effort to uplift residents amid rising economic challenges, the Okanlomo of Igbehin and founder of the Toyin Amuzu Foundation, Chief Toyin Amuzu, has distributed 100 Point of Sales (POS) machines, startup capital, business kiosks, and registration certificates to small business owners in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The initiative, which aims to promote financial inclusion and entrepreneurship, was widely applauded by beneficiaries and community stakeholders, who described it as a timely intervention in the face of Nigeria’s economic realities.
The Youth Leader of the PDP in the state, Oyejide Sunkanmi in a tribute he wrote from Onisasa Village in Abeokuta North, said beyond the economic empowerment scheme, Amuzu has also intensified his philanthropic activities across the local government with multiple community development projects.
In the statement Oyejide added that, Amuzu commissioned borehole water projects in Erunbe and Shodipe communities, expanding access to clean water for over 18 communities in the area.
According to him, in a bid to enhance public safety and night-time visibility, Amuzu also facilitated the installation of over 200 solar-powered streetlights across Abeokuta South. Residents hailed the project as a game-changer for community security and local commerce.
He said “through the Toyin Amuzu Foundation, the philanthropist has consistently supported students and the elderly with food items, educational materials, and other essentials, drawing praise from families and local leaders.”
Many observers have linked Amuzu’s rising popularity and grassroots reach to his political ambition.
Amuzu, a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has declared his interest in representing Abeokuta South at the National Assembly, positioning himself as a people-centered politician committed to service delivery.
His contributions have not gone unnoticed.
In recent years, he has received multiple recognitions including the Community Contributor Award by the Egba Youth Football Club, a Community Volunteer Service Award from the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), and the KAAF Distinguished Award for Football Excellence.
Oyejide said “Chief Toyin Amuzu is a blessing to our people.
“We pray for more strength and long life for him to continue touching lives.”
