Suspected Organ Harvesters Disguised as Policemen Abduct Man In Rivers

A young man has reportedly escaped a suspected abduction and possible organ harvesting attempt by armed men impersonating police officers in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to a family member via X (formerly Twitter), the victim was commuting in a Bolt vehicle within the city when his ride was intercepted by men in plain clothes.

The assailants, who arrived in a Toyota Sienna, allegedly identified themselves as police officers before forcibly removing the victim from the vehicle.

The attackers reportedly struck him with the butt of a rifle, tied his hands, and bundled him into their vehicle.

In a dramatic turn, the Bolt driver is said to have trailed the abductors, attempting to raise the alarm, but the suspects opened fire on his tyres to deter pursuit.

Inside the assailants’ vehicle, the victim was allegedly assaulted, and his phone confiscated and searched.

The attackers reportedly examined his photo gallery, where they found images from a recent surgical procedure.

The victim explained he had undergone surgery due to a long-term kidney condition he has been managing for seven years.

Following this revelation, the attackers allegedly exchanged glances and, after a brief discussion, decided to release him—suggesting that his organs may have been deemed unsuitable.

Before releasing him, however, the suspects reportedly withdrew N80,000 from his account using his ATM card.

They returned his phone, handed him N3,000, and instructed him to contact his Bolt driver for pickup.

The victim’s relative, in a post recounting the ordeal, expressed gratitude for his survival and warned others to remain vigilant.

“This is a wake-up call,” the relative wrote. “Don’t ever think it can’t be you. This has hit very close to home. We thank God my brother is safe and sound.”

The Rivers State Police Command has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
