Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying opponent, Zimbabwe on Thursday unveiled their new head coach, Michael Nees.
The Warriors have been without a substantive head coach since Brazilian Baltemar Brito left the post last year.
Nees has been mandated to ensure Zimbabwe qualify for their first-ever World Cup.
Zimbabwe currently occupy last position in Group C with two points from four games.
The German’s first official game in charge of the Warriors will be the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Harambee Stars of Kenya next month.
The 57-year-old has previously managed the Seychelles and Rwandan national team.
