The Forum of Female Vice Chairmen in Ogun State has thrown its weight behind the All Progressives Congress candidate for the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The forum, comprising the female vice chairmen of Ifo, Ewekoro and Ipokia Local Government Areas, expressed its support for Adeleye through the presentation of campaign souvenirs to the former commissioner.
The souvenirs were presented by the Vice Chairmen of Ifo, Ewekoro and Ipokia LGAs, Hon. Bolanle Ojo, Alhaja Aliu Abisola and Hon. Olufunmilayo Okewole respectively.
The forum said the gesture was intended to reaffirm its confidence in Adeleye’s political experience, capacity and commitment to effective representation, while also promoting greater participation and visibility for women in politics.
Speaking on behalf of the forum, Abisola described the presentation as a modest demonstration of solidarity with Adeleye’s candidacy.
She stressed the importance of women supporting one another in politics, saying the success of one woman could create opportunities for others.
The forum, she added, would continue to promote unity, solidarity and collective participation among women across Ogun State.
Responding, Adeleye thanked the vice chairmen for what she described as a significant demonstration of political solidarity and sisterhood.
The APC candidate said the gesture represented more than the presentation of campaign souvenirs, describing it as a demonstration of confidence and encouragement for women seeking greater participation in governance.
Adeleye urged women across the state to build stronger networks of support irrespective of political and geographical differences.
According to her, women’s participation in politics should go beyond token representation to active involvement in decision-making and leadership.
The former Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development and former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism also commended the forum for consistently identifying with her candidacy.
She said stronger cooperation among women would help amplify their collective voice and advance inclusive leadership in the state.
Adeleye is seeking election on the APC platform to represent the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections.
