A tragic incident has rocked the Rimintsiwa area of Zaria City in Kaduna State, where a 53-year-old man, identified as Abubakar Aminu, allegedly beat his younger brother, Sani Yusuf, to death following a violent altercation.

The incident reportedly occurred on April 4, 2025, at their family home, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama.

It was gathered that the suspect launched a brutal attack on his 50-year-old sibling, inflicting severe injuries on him.

Sani was rushed to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika, where he remained under intensive medical care. However, he succumbed to the injuries and was pronounced dead at exactly 4:50 a.m. on April 10, 2025.

Sources revealed that the victim’s condition continued to deteriorate despite medical intervention. His death has thrown the family and local community into mourning.

The deceased has since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna State Police Command confirmed that the suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident. Security operatives have since launched a manhunt to apprehend Abubakar, who remains at large.

The case has been classified as culpable homicide, and investigations are ongoing to unravel the motive behind the fatal assault.

The state police spokesperson could not be reached for an official comment as of the time of filing this report.
