The Canada Trade Mission 2024 has officially commenced at the Emerald Banquet Hall, Etobicoke, Ontario, bringing together the best of Nigerian culture and trade opportunities.
The much-anticipated event, held at 55 Guided Court, aims to foster stronger trade relations between Nigeria and Canada, while showcasing the beauty and richness of Nigerian heritage.
The event, convened by Chief Olawale Olaleye, the Bobawoga of Orile-Itesi and founder of Solteque Canada Incorporation and Solteque Nigeria Limited, promises a unique blend of cultural displays, business exhibitions, and investment opportunities.
According to Chief Olaleye, attendees will experience an array of traditional Nigerian fabrics, notably the famous Adire, alongside handcrafted artisan goods, culinary delights, and emerging real estate prospects.
“The Canada Trade Mission is an important platform that not only celebrates cultural heritage but also promotes business and economic growth,” Chief Olaleye remarked during the opening ceremony.
He emphasized the importance of trade relations and cultural exchanges between Nigeria and Canada, stating that the mission is designed to strengthen ties and provide meaningful opportunities for collaboration.
Attendees will have the chance to reconnect with their Nigerian roots while exploring business and investment options that could benefit both the diaspora and communities back home.
The event aims to empower participants by facilitating discussions on real estate investments, trade partnerships, and showcasing the talent of Nigerian artisans and entrepreneurs.

This year’s event builds on the success of the Pre-Canada Trade Mission held in October 2023 at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
That event, chaired by former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, was instrumental in highlighting the potential for increased international trade and cultural exchange.
Chief Obasanjo, a staunch advocate for economic development through cross-border partnerships, praised the initiative’s role in creating bridges between Nigeria and Canada.
