A 31-year-old Alfa, identified as Jubril Dalamun, has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl (name withheld) in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police, Omolola Odutola, told the DAILY POST on Thursday that the arrest followed a report from the mother of the child.

According to Odutola, the victim’s mother, Kehinde Kafayat, a resident of Adekoja Street in Abobi, Ago Iwoye, reported that Dalamun had forcibly assaulted and defiled her daughter.

She said, “On October 22, 2024, the Divisional Police Officer received a report of a sexual assault involving a minor at 9:40 a.m.

“One Mrs. Kehinde Kafayat, a resident of Adekoja Street in Abobi, Ago Iwoye, accompanied her 12-year-old daughter to report at the station.

“She reported that on Saturday, October 19, 2024, around 1:00 p.m., a 31-year-old man, Alfa Jubril Dalamun, residing at No. 8 Imososi Street in Ago Iwoye, had forcibly assaulted and defiled her daughter.”

The PRO stated that the suspect had been arrested, and the victim was taken to Love and Care Hospital in Ago Iwoye for medical examination and treatment.

Odutola noted that the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and likely prosecution.
