The Ibuso Aje of Egbaland, Chief Dr. Florence Mojisola Oni-Quadri, has described the passing of Alhaja Aliratu Adunni Matemilola, mother of the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, as a profound loss that has left an irreplaceable void in the kingdom.
She made this statement on Monday during a condolence visit to the Olowu’s palace in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
During her visit, Chief Oni-Quadri emphasized the lasting impact of the late matriarch, noting that her influence extended beyond the Owu Kingdom to touch the lives of many across Ogun State.
She described Alhaja Matemilola as a figure whose memory and contributions will not be forgotten anytime soon.
“I pray that Almighty Allah grants His Majesty, Oba Prof. Saka Matemilola, the Matemilola family, and the entire Owu Kingdom the strength to bear this immense loss,” she stated, offering words of comfort to the grieving family.
Earlier, other notable chiefs from the Owu Kingdom, including the Orunto of Owu Kingdom, Chief Dr. Abiodun Oladimeji Lashile; Obamaja of Owu Kingdom, Chief Lateef Oseni; and Osukori of Owu Kingdom, Chief Olusola Adeoye, also expressed their gratitude to Chief Oni-Quadri.
They commended her for her consistent support and dedication to the kingdom, acknowledging her contributions to the welfare of the Owu community.
In response, Oba Matemilola expressed his appreciation to Chief Oni-Quadri and her entourage for their thoughtful visit.
The monarch urged her to continue her philanthropic efforts and commitment to humanitarian causes, underscoring the importance of such deeds in strengthening the community.
Alhaja Aliratu Adunni Matemilola, passed away on Sunday at the age of 81.
