A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party and the Collegiate Chairman in Abeokuta-North, Hon. Adeshina Olaleye, has reaffirmed the credibility of th governorship ca didate in 2923 election in the state, Ladi Adebutu as the true grassroots politician among the current crop of governorship aspirants in Ogun State.

Speaking at the Abeokuta North Local Government Collegiate Council Meeting, Olaleye emphasized that unlike some aspirants in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adebutu’s paternal and maternal origins are undisputed.

“Adebutu is a true son of the soil,” Olaleye said, adding that he has lived and operated his business in Ogun State, distinguishing himself from others whose heritage is a subject of public controversy.

He added “Adebutu is the only grassroot politician among the governorship aspirants on ground at the moment.

“His paternal and maternal origins are not subjects of controversy, unlike our friend in the All Progressives Congress (APC). LADO is a true son of the soil; he lives and runs his business in Ogun State.”

Adebutu, who represented Remo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2015 to 2019 under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), also received commendation for his unwavering commitment to the development of Ogun State.

Olaleye recalled how Adebutu donated over 200 transformers to various communities, underscoring his deep connection to grassroots development.

“He has proven to be intellectually upright and capable of serving his people. Hon. Adebutu is a true Omoluabi, a God-sent liberator to his people,” Olaleye affirmed.

Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, Olaleye expressed confidence that the PDP would dominate in Abeokuta North, stating that the party now has a formidable team in the area.

He vowed to collaborate with other key stakeholders to ensure the party’s victory, asserting, “Come 2027, the good people of Abeokuta North will deliver all PDP candidates.”

Meanwhile, the State PDP Chairman, Abayomi Tella, has called for unity and cooperation within the party to secure the governorship seat for Adebutu in the 2027 elections.

During the event, Tella urged members to focus on the ultimate goal, emphasizing that 2027 represents the last chance for the PDP to regain power in the state.

“It is when we succeed that the boldness will come on us, because the 2027 general election is our last chance,” Tella remarked, urging party members to remain loyal and committed to the cause.

Adebutu, who also spoke at the event, congratulated the PDP members in Abeokuta North for their victory in the recently concluded local government elections.

He assured them that a senator would emerge from the Abeokuta North District in 2027, emphasizing that the time for the PDP to take back the governorship is now.

“Adebutu stated, “PDP has not been in governance for 16 years, and we believe 2027 is our time because the APC is starting to diminish.

“We’ve already seen it begin here in Abeokuta North, and I am pleased with the progress we are making.”

The event also saw contributions from prominent party members, including Ogun Central Senatorial Chairman, Hon. Dotun Keshinro, who praised Adebutu for sustaining the existence of the PDP in the state.

Prince Lekan Tejuosho, a member of the Abeokuta North Elder Council, advised the party leadership to focus on strengthening their efforts at the grassroots level to secure significant results in future elections.

As the 2027 governorship race looms, PDP said it’s members in Ogun State are more unified than ever, pledging their support behind Hon. Ladi Adebutu, their chosen candidate.
