This is the fourth major attack in Danko/Wasagu this year. Just two weeks earlier, 15 farmers were killed in the Waje community.
Before that, other attacks left several dead and injured, despite a security presence involving the army, police tactical unit, and vigilantes.
A local vigilante, Ibrahim Shehu, said the bandits exploited the early farming season, knowing many would be on their farms.
Efforts to reach Danko/Wasagu LG chairman, Husseini Aliyu Bena, and Kebbi police spokesperson CSP Nafiu Abubakar were unsuccessful.
However, a local council source confirmed that the state government has ordered the provision of relief materials and that military operations are ongoing to rescue the abducted.
