The National Assembly will hold a Special Joint Sitting on Thursday, June 12 in honour of Democracy Day, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expected to attend as Special Guest of Honour.
In a statement released on Sunday by the House of Representatives Spokesman, Rep. Akin Rotimi, the event will mark 26 years of uninterrupted democracy in Nigeria under the theme: “26 Years of Democracy: Renewing Our Commitment to National Development.”
According to him, an internal memorandum from the Clerk of the House, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, said the session will take place in the House of Representatives Chamber at the National Assembly Complex.
