Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, the lawmaker representing Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has disclosed that he has sponsored six strategic bills, empowered over 4,000 constituents, and facilitated critical infrastructure projects within just two years in office.
Isiaka, who is popularly known as GNI, made the revelations on Sunday during a media parley with some Journalists in Ogun State, held in Abeokuta.
He also used the occasion to declare his full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term ambition, saying the President’s bold reforms are beginning to reposition the country for long-term stability.
Presenting his midterm scorecard, Isiaka announced that he has sponsored six key bills that address education, security, economic development, and institutional reform.
According to him, among them are; bill to establish an Agro-Processing and Export Free Trade Zone in his constituency (passed third reading), bill to establish a Federal Institute of Technical and Vocational Education in Imeko (also passed third reading), amendment of the Federal College of Education Act to establish a technical institution in Eggua (at second reading), and scholarship Regulation Bill (at second reading).
Others are ;Nigerian Neighbourhood Watch and Community Service Corps Bill (first reading), and a motion that led to the lifting of an eight-year ban on petrol sales within 20km of border towns.
“These bills were borne out of the development realities and strategic needs of our people,” Isiaka said.
“Our aim is to build durable institutions, empower rural communities, and elevate human capital across the constituency.”
Highlighting his human capital development efforts, Isiaka said no fewer than 4,000 constituents have benefited from empowerment initiatives involving vocational tools, motorcycles, tricycles, agricultural inputs, and cash grants.
“We didn’t stop at infrastructure. We went directly to the people,” he said.
Other interventions include:vocational training in poultry, tailoring, leatherwork, and ICT, distribution of 100 laptops to youth trainees, and Engagement of 20 volunteer teachers paid from his personal resources,Scholarship awards to 15 students, and Facilitation of 15 jobs in federal agencies such as FIRS, NELFUND, CMD, and the Office of the Auditor-General of the Federation.
The lawmaker said his tenure has brought significant infrastructure upgrades to underserved communities in the constituency.
These include:1.58km Mowodani–Sawmill road rehabilitation, Computer-Based Test centre at Nazareth High School in Imeko, Renovation of classroom blocks in Ayetoro, Ijale Ketu, Iwoye, and Ijaka Oke, installation of over 350 solar-powered streetlights,
Also, provision of solar-powered boreholes in Ibeku, Alakuta, Oniji, and Ayetoro, donation of electricity transformers to Oja-Odan, Ilara, and Oke-Agbede, construction of a divisional police station in Oja-Odan, and rehabilitation of three health centres in Agberiodo, Atapele, and Agbon Ojodu.
Over 3,000 residents have also benefited from free medical outreach programmes, Isiaka added.
In an effort to boost food security and stimulate rural employment, Isiaka revealed that he facilitated a public-private partnership between the Ogun State Ministry of Agriculture and the Lee Group to launch a 50-hectare rice cultivation pilot scheme in Eggua.
He said another project for cotton farming in Iwoye-Ketu is set to commence later in the year, which will generate both direct and indirect jobs and contribute to local industrialisation.
Speaking on national matters, Isiaka gave a strong nod to President Tinubu’s economic reforms, including fuel subsidy removal and exchange rate unification. He described them as tough but necessary choices that have begun yielding results.
“The Tinubu administration has taken bold steps where others hesitated. From forex unification to subsidy removal and tax reforms, we are seeing the green shoots of a stabilizing economy,” he said.
“We firmly support Mr. President’s re-election, because the gains we are beginning to see must not be reversed. Nigeria is finally turning a corner.”
He noted that foreign reserves had climbed to $38.4 billion, inflation was slowing, and the GDP growth outlook remained stable at 3.5% through 2026, citing official economic data.
The federal lawmaker thanked Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, and Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for creating an enabling environment for collaboration on constituency projects.
He declared that his representation is not about “ceremonial appearances,” but about “measurable outcomes, restored dignity, and real development.”
“We are just halfway through our mandate, but the foundation we’ve laid is strong,” he said. “The next two years will be even more impactful, with bigger and bolder interventions.”
