The Igbayiyemi Community Development Association (CDA), under the Adio Ajegunle axis in Soyoye, Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, on Saturday, June 28, 2025, held its election and inauguration ceremony for a new set of executive members.

The newly elected chairman, Mr. Lawal Kehinde Taoheed, was officially inaugurated alongside other executives during a well-attended event that attracted key stakeholders from the local government and community development circles.

Performing the inauguration on behalf of the local government was Mr. Adelakun Adisa David, while other dignitaries present included Comrade Musiliu Adisa Anifowose, Chairman of the Ifelajulo Area Community Development Council (CDC); Alhaji Muritadho Akanji Atunrase, Grand Patron of the Ifelajulo CDC; and Mrs. Osilaja Victoria Olayemi, Director of Women Affairs, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, who also serves as the Matron of the Igbayiyemi CDA.

In his inaugural speech, Mr. Lawal reaffirmed the association’s commitment to defending the collective interest of the community, revealing that the new executive team had already recovered portions of land belonging to Adio Ajegunle that were encroached upon by members of the Kojsolorun community in the Bashorun area.

“Despite being newly inaugurated, we have swiftly taken action with the help of our elders to reclaim our community land. This is just the beginning,” Lawal stated.

He further pledged that the administration would focus on improving infrastructure, including the rehabilitation of damaged roads and replacement of faulty electricity poles.

He assured residents that the CDA would respond swiftly to emerging community needs.

The inauguration was capped with a renewed vow of unity and commitment to progress, with the resounding chant: “Igbayiyemi ko ni baje o! Ojuse Igbayiyemi, ajose gbogbo wa ni.”
