Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested four suspected informants linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province during clearance operations in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The arrests were carried out at about 6:30pm on December 30, 2025, in the Garaha and Kakara general areas of the council, following actionable intelligence, security sources said on Thursday.
It was gathered that the suspects were apprehended by troops working in collaboration with local hunters after a tip-off from residents.
Those arrested were identified as Chollu Alhaji, Malam Bako Abubakar, Naftali Gabriel and Madaiba Joseph.
A security analyst, Zagazola Makama, disclosed that the suspects allegedly supplied intelligence that aided a terrorist attack in Dubang village of Hong LGA on December 29, 2025, which reportedly claimed the lives of several residents.
Sources further revealed that the suspects have been handed over to the Theatre Prosecution Section, where they are currently in custody and undergoing investigation.
Efforts to get official comments from the military authorities were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
The military has continued to intensify operations across the North-East, as part of efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and cut off local support for insurgent groups in the region.
