A Presidential Aspirant of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Mr. Olajide Filani, has congratulated Muslim faithful across the country on the successful completion of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, urging Nigerians to embrace unity, compassion and renewed commitment to nation-building.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, March 19, 2026, Filani described the Eid celebration as a reminder of sacrifice, discipline, love and devotion to God, noting that the spiritual lessons of Ramadan should translate into everyday conduct among citizens and leaders.
He called on Nigerians to uphold the values of tolerance, peace and mutual respect, stressing that the country’s current socio-economic and security challenges require collective effort, sincere leadership and sustained prayers.
“During this Eid-el-Fitr celebration, I congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters on the successful completion of Ramadan, a period that teaches patience, sacrifice and deep devotion to God.
These virtues are critical for our nation at this time,” he said.
Filani emphasised that Nigeria’s progress depends on the willingness of leaders and citizens alike to work together toward a shared vision of peace, justice and inclusivity.
According to him, the country needs leadership that is accountable and people-oriented to navigate its present challenges.
He urged political leaders, religious bodies and citizens to use the festive period to reflect on the importance of national unity and harmonious coexistence, while promoting fairness and equity across all regions and communities.
“My hope this season is for peace to be restored across Nigeria, for our people to experience genuine joy, and for us to build a country where every citizen feels safe, valued and respected,” he added.
The YPP presidential aspirant further encouraged Nigerians not to lose hope in the face of difficulties, calling for sustained prayers and support for initiatives aimed at improving security, boosting the economy and fostering national stability.
He also appealed to citizens to make informed choices in future elections, noting that leadership remains central to addressing the country’s challenges.
“As a nation, we must remain hopeful and steadfast. By making the right choices, we can usher in a new era of peace, prosperity and abundance,” Filani said, adding that success often comes through persistence despite setbacks.
