,, Rd,The Society of Muslim Professionals, Abeokuta, has unveiled plans to commemorate its 35th anniversary with a series of spiritual and humanitarian activities aimed at reinforcing faith, promoting professional excellence and supporting vulnerable members of society.
In a statement issued on Monday, the group said the week-long celebration, themed “From Gratitude to Greater Heights: Sustaining Excellence in Deen and Dunyah,” would highlight its contributions to community development since its establishment on April 13, 1991.
According to the statement, the anniversary events will commence from April 13 to 16 with outreach programmes, including visits and donations to the needy, alongside spiritual engagements designed to promote compassion and social responsibility.
It added that a special Jumu’ah service would be held on April 17 to provide an avenue for collective worship and reflection among members and the Muslim faithful.
The grand finale is scheduled for April 19 at the SMP Central Mosque, located at Solar Distinct Hill-top, opposite Crown Royal Hotel, Abiola Way, Asero, Abeokuta.
The event will be presided over by the National President of the Society, Alhaji S.A. Rasheed, with support from other national executives.
The statement further disclosed that the Chief Imam of SMP, Imam Abubakri AbdWasiu Maadan, would lead the spiritual proceedings, while the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Alhaji Najeem Mulero, would host the ceremony.
The organisation noted that the anniversary would serve as an opportunity to reflect on its achievements over the past three decades while outlining strategies to deepen its impact in both spiritual and socio-economic development.
It called on members of the public, stakeholders and the Muslim Ummah to participate in the activities and offer prayers for the continued growth of the society.
