President Bola Tinubu on Thursday, held two separate closed-door meetings with two traditional rulers in Ogun State over the lingering crises among three power brokers in the state .
The state governor, Dapo Abiodun has been having it uneasy with two former governors in the state, Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun over political matters .
The president was in the state on a private visit to two paramount rulers in the state, the Awujale of Ijebuland,Oba Sikiru Adetona and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Michael Gbadebo in their palaces .
Tinubu who first visited Awujale in his palace in Ijebu-Ode held the closed-door meeting with the monarch in the presence of Abiodun and Daniel for about an hour .
Both Abiodun and Daniel have drawn battlelines following the poor performance of the party during the governorship election held in March 18, 2023 in the state .
The election was won by the All Progressives Congress by a narrow margin and was contested by the People’s Democratic Party at the election petition tribunal.
PLATFORM TIMES could not however, confirm the content of the meeting, but, sources from the two camps said ,the meeting was to broker peace with the two politicians .
The president also held another round of closed-door meeting with the Alake of Egbaland in the presence of Amosun and Abiodun .
Both Abiodun and Amosun were political enemies prior to the 2019 election .
The sources confided in the PLATFORM TIMES that the president was worried over the dimension of the crisis in the state.
PLATFORM TIMES reports that Abiodun was enjoying the support of former governor Segun Osoba while both Daniel and Amosun were on the same page against Abiodun.
The closed-door meeting at the Ake palace was announced by an official, shortly after the president spoke with the people at the palace during the visit .
The official was heard urging the people present to leave the palace, saying the president was going to meet with the monarch in private .
But, PLATFORM TIMES was told that Amosun and Abiodun were invited for the meeting .
Meanwhile, there has been insinuation that the president was not happy with Abiodun over his alleged role during party primaries .
Abiodun was said to have worked against Tinubu during the party primaries .
This development was said to have angered Tinubu which made him to dress down the governor during his visjt to the state last year ahead of the primaries .
The recent interview where Daniel indicted Abiodun of maltreating him due to his decision to work for Tinubu’s emergence against his wish ,was also said to have fueled the crisis .
The event, after the closed-door meetings by Tinubu and the two monarchs with the three power brokers was being observed .
Many political analysts said, time will tell, whether the meetings are successful or not .
