A 32-year-old first-class graduate of the University of Ibadan (UI), Opuofoni Freeborn Ebimotimi,has been lynched to death for allegedly stealing a loaf of bread in Bayelsa State .
Ebimitomi, graduated from the Department of Business Administration, UI.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the incident occured on Sunday at Tombia-Amassoma Road in the state .
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Asinim Butswat, made the disclosure via a statement issued on Tuesday.
He said operatives of the State Police Command have however, arrested three suspects for allegedly participating in the lynching of Ebimotimi.
The police spokesman gave the names of the suspects as Preye Mathew, 50; Theophilus Tiro, 28; and Famous Precious, 22.
Butswat said the three suspects were arrested at about 5 p.m. on July 9 aroudj the scene of the crime shortly after a mob lynched the suspect.
The police spokesperson, who condemned the mob action, warned the people of the state to desist from taking laws into their hands.
He said the suspects were undergoing interrogation and would be charged to court at the conclusion of an investigation.
