Guber Poll Results: Diri, Uzodimma Lead In Bayelsa,Imo,As Ododo, Ajaka Too Close To Call In Kogi

The early results in both Balyesa and Imo States during the Saturday elections show that the incumbent Governors Douye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party in Bayelsa   and APC’s Hope Uzodimma in Imo State were in early lead.

However, the race remains fiercely contested in Kogi State, as Usman Ododo of the APC and Muri Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) were  in a tight contest.

In Bayelsa State, early results indicate that Governor Diri, who seeks re-election, has taken a substantial lead in several local government areas.

Notably, former President Goodluck Jonathan delivered his polling unit to the PDP, where they secured 1,379 votes compared to APC’s 1,015.

In Ogbia Local Government Area, the PDP secured a dominant position in Opume community, with 15 out of 17 polling units in their favor.

Slow results were attributed to the challenging riverine terrain, making it difficult for INEC returning officers to submit details. Nevertheless, the PDP appears to be ahead in Ogbia, Sagbama, Ekeremor, and Yenagoa Local Government Areas.

In Kogi State, the race remains too close to call between Usman Ododo of the APC and Muri Ajaka of the SDP, with PDP’s Dino Melaye also a strong contender.

As of the latest results, Ododo has polled 21,047 votes, followed by Ajaka with 7,324 votes, and Melaye with 2,529 votes. Notably, Ajaka has gathered substantial support in his Kogi East Senatorial District.

In Imo State, APC’s Hope Uzodinma has secured a strong lead with 22,113 votes across 90 units in different local government areas. His closest rivals, Samuel Anyanwu of the PDP and Labour Party’s Senator Athan Achonu, have garnered 1,452 and 1,658 votes, respectively.

While the results are still being collated and the situation can change, these early figures provide a glimpse into the political landscape in these states.

In Bayelsa and Imo, the incumbents appear to be in the lead, while in Kogi, the outcome remains uncertain.

As of the latest data available, a significant portion of the results has been uploaded, but the final tally will determine the victors in these closely watched gubernatorial elections.
