Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has made significant strides in shaping the administrative landscape of the state by appointing a total of 162 aides, comprising 79 Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), 73 Special Assistants (SAs), and 10 Technical Advisors (TAs).

The appointments, set to take effect on January 1, 2024, mark the initiation of the first batch of a two-phase roll-out, as announced by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode.

In a statement, Governor Oyebanji congratulated the newly appointed individuals, emphasizing the importance of their roles in contributing to the state’s development agenda.

He urged them to view their appointments as a unique opportunity to serve the people of Ekiti State diligently.

Simultaneously, the Governor has taken another decisive step by approving the formation of a seven-member committee responsible for coordinating appointments to boards and commissions within the state.

The committee, endowed with the mandate to engage stakeholders across the 16 local government areas, will meticulously screen and recommend suitable candidates for these crucial positions.

According to the statement from the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, the committee is expected to operate within the framework of the laws governing the establishment of various parastatals.

With a deadline set at six weeks, the committee’s primary objective is to conclude the appointment process and submit recommendations to Governor Oyebanji.

The newly appointed committee will be chaired by Prof. Dupe Adelabu, with Barr Paul Omotosho serving as the vice chairman.

Adebayo Gold will act as the secretary, while Senator Yemi Adaramodub, Chief Alaba Abejide, Chief Jide Awe, and Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye will contribute their expertise as members of the committee.

Governor Oyebanji’s strategic moves reflect a commitment to a well-rounded and capable team, underscoring the administration’s dedication to effective governance and inclusive decision-making processes.

As Ekiti State anticipates the positive impact of these appointments, the committee’s work is poised to shape the composition of boards and commissions, ensuring a balance of expertise and representation across various sectors in the state.
