In a commendable display of commitment to justice, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has publicly praised President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their steadfast refusal to succumb to pressure and interfere in the Supreme Court judgment that reinstated him as governor.

Governor Yusuf, speaking at a press briefing at the Supreme Court premises in Abuja, acknowledged the resilience of the president and vice president against pressures from disgruntled elements who sought to compromise the integrity of the judicial process that affirmed his victory.

The elated governor expressed his gratitude for their principled stand in upholding justice.

As reported by PLATFORM TIMES, the Supreme Court on Friday overturned the decision of the election petition tribunal and the appeal court, restoring Abba Kabir Yusuf as the duly elected governor of Kano State.

A statement released by Aliyu Yusuf, Director of Public Enlightenment at the Government House Kano, also highlighted Governor Abba’s appreciation for NNPP leaders and Sen. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, the world leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, for their guidance and support during the challenging period.

In a gesture of reconciliation, Governor Abba extended an olive branch to his opponent, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna.

“As a true democrat and progressive, I call on my opponent and his supporters to join hands with me in the crusade of developing our dear state Kano for the betterment of its teeming citizens,” stated Governor Abba.

Emphasizing the need for visionary leadership, he urged leaders to initiate projects, policies, and programs that directly impact the lives of the people across the state.

“People of Kano need leaders with vision, passion, zeal, and commitment to initiating projects, policies, and programs that have a direct bearing on their lives,” he added.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed his gratitude to Almighty Allah and the people of Kano for their unwavering support, prayers, sacrifices, and brevity.

He also commended the Supreme Court Judges for upholding the glory of the Judiciary in delivering a just verdict.

The governor remains focused on steering Kano towards a future marked by progress and prosperity, with a commitment to inclusive development.
