Former Governor of Kano State and Kwankwasiyya movement leader, Sen. Rabi’u Kwankwaso, emphasised that the Kano emirates issue, involving the split by former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, will be revisited.
Following the New Nigerian Peoples Party’s election victory, Kwankwaso had stated the intention to review the dethronement and division of the emirate.
In a recent interview with select radio stations in Kano, he reiterated the commitment to addressing the Kano emirates matter, acknowledging the need for discussions on whether to allow, demolish, correct, or take other actions.
Kwankwaso highlighted the contentious nature of the initial decisions, expressing the importance of addressing the situation with careful consideration.
Notably, after the Supreme Court upheld Abba Kabir Yusuf’s election victory, calls for the reinstatement of former Kano Emir, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, gained momentum.
