The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has  refuted  recent reports of a supposed coup scare, labeling them as fake and characterizing the dissemination as a heinous act of disinformation.

Idris, speaking through his Special Assistant (Media), Rabiu Ibrahim, emphasizes that the news report is a product of the warped imagination of detractors with malicious intentions.

Their aim, according to Idris, is to destabilize the country and undermine the current administration.

Asserting the government’s resilience, Idris declares that ongoing reforms aimed at rejuvenating the economy and creating prosperity for the citizenry will not be abandoned.

Despite attempts to distract or intimidate, he maintains the government’s unwavering commitment to these crucial initiatives.

Expressing concern over the use of fake news to erode public trust and sow discord, Idris reveals the desperation of certain individuals behind these actions.

In response, he affirms the government’s determination to exercise its rights within the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to counter any rogue actions threatening national security and the hard-earned democracy of the nation.

Idris urges the public to exercise discernment and refrain from spreading the unfounded report.

He warns against amplifying the baseless information strategically planted on compromised news platforms to subvert the nation’s democracy.

In summary, the government’s message is clear – the reported coup scare is false, an act of disinformation orchestrated by those seeking to undermine the country.

The administration stands firm in its commitment to ongoing reforms and vows to counter rogue actions that threaten national security and democratic values.
