In response to the rising incidents of kidnapping, murder, and ritual killings in Ogun State, the State House of Assembly has passed a resolution, urging the State Government to swiftly provide essential instruments and apparatus to enhance the security network across the region.

During the plenary session at the Assembly Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Adegoke Adeyanju initiated the debate, emphasizing the necessity for the government to collaborate with security stakeholders, including the Security Trust Fund and the private sector.

He advocated for the procurement of ‘Autel Drone Robotics Evo Max 4T’ to effectively track and curb criminal activities.

Babatunde Tella and Adebisi Oyedele echoed these sentiments, highlighting the urgency of addressing insecurity.

They drew attention to the recent tragic murder of a JAMB candidate, the Speaker’s niece, in Odeda Local Government Area.

The lawmakers emphasized the widespread nature of such incidents, emphasizing the need for the government’s support in providing security agencies with necessary gadgets, including the proposed tracking equipment and the installation of solar cameras in strategic locations.

The debate culminated in a motion for the resolution, presented by Majority Leader Yusuf Sheriff, seconded by Hon. Lukmon Atobatele, and unanimously supported by the entire House through a voice vote.

Additionally, during the plenary, Speaker Oludaisi Elemide and other lawmakers celebrated the 20th coronation anniversary of the Olu of Itoriland, Oba Abdul-Fatai Akorede Akamo, as reported by Hon. Yusuf Amosun.

The Speaker also announced a valedictory plenary on Tuesday, 5th of March, 2024, in honor of the retiring Clerk/Head of Legislative Service, Mr. Adedeji Taiwo Adeyemo.
