In a significant move to ease the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan for the residents of Zamfara State, former Governor and current Senator of Zamfara West Senatorial District, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, has announced the distribution of 358 trucks filled with assorted grains.

This generous initiative aims to support the people of Zamfara State by providing essential foodstuffs such as Rice, Millet, Sugar, and Maize, regardless of their political affiliations.

The distribution plan, outlined in a statement by Muhammad Ibrahim Birnin Magaji, the Chairman of the Publicity Committee, is designed to alleviate the hardships faced by impoverished families and those affected by the country’s economic strains and ongoing security issues.

The initiative will span across the 14 local government areas of the state, targeting particularly vulnerable segments of the population including orphans, widows, and divorcees.

The operation, meticulously organized by the distribution committee led by Hon. Lawal M. Liman, who also serves as the Chairman of the A.A Yari Political Organization, aims to reach 17,500 households in 13 local government areas and 22,500 households in the Gusau local government area.

During a briefing held on Sunday, March 3, 2024, in Gusau, Hon. Lawal M Liman disclosed the inclusion of Rice, Sugar, and Millet to the previous distribution roster, which initially comprised only Maize, to honor the sacred period of Ramadan.

He assured that over 98% of the supplies had already been dispatched to the designated areas, ensuring timely access for the intended recipients.

The commencement of the distribution is scheduled to align with the onset of Ramadan, emphasizing the need for the beneficiaries to be among the most needy in society. Hon. Liman also called upon the citizens to keep the former Governor, the state, and the nation in their prayers during this period.

This initiative not only highlights the spirit of giving and compassion inherent in the observance of Ramadan but also stands as a testament to Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar’s ongoing commitment to the welfare of his constituents in times of need.
