In desperate pleas for help, locals have reached out to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, urging immediate intervention to safeguard their lives.
Reports reveal that many residents are facing starvation and are in dire need of urgent medical assistance while taking refuge in their clandestine hiding spots.
Speaking, an Okuama indigene residing in Warri disclosed the grim reality faced by his relatives still stranded in the forests.
He lamented the pervasive fear instilled by the military presence, forcing many to sever communication ties, resorting to person-to-person interactions to evade detection.
“My uncle and cousins, who managed to escape the turmoil, dare not seek refuge with us in Warri, fearing reprisals that could endanger our safety,” he revealed.
