The Borno State Police Command has apprehended eight  suspects linked to the  tragic murder of Dr. Abdulkadir Kamal, a lecturer at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID).

Dr. Kamal from  the Department of Physical and Health Education, reportedly  fell victim to a horrific attack within the confines of his office on Sunday, sending shockwaves throughout the university community.

According to ASP Daso Kenneth, the spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command, the swift action followed a distress call regarding Dr. Kamal’s murder, which also involved the theft of his vehicle by the assailants.

“The command has received a distress call on the murder of Dr. Kamal,” Kenneth stated. “It was confirmed that he was murdered in his office and his car got stolen by the killers.”

Kenneth further revealed that the investigative efforts led to the apprehension of eight suspects, who are currently undergoing thorough interrogation to ascertain their involvement and to uncover the masterminds behind the gruesome act.

In the wake of this chilling incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) urged for calm among the populace, assuring them that the Police Command is diligently handling the situation and is determined to bring the perpetrators to justice.
