The Oyo State Police Command has invited Fulani and Yoruba community leaders over the alleged death of some grazing cattle occasioned by poisoning at the Alafara area of Ibadan in Ido Local Government area of Oyo State.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the invitation was for an amicable resolution of the incident.

PLATFORM TIMES further gathered that security operatives have been keeping a 24-hour vigilance in the area to prevent the breakdown of law and order.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that cows grazing near the Alafara community were reportedly poisoned. The area is known for its residential buildings, a stream, and as home to farmers growing vegetables and crops.

Speaking on the development, the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, said residents and authorities alerted the government about the situation, prompting swift action to prevent any potential clashes between herdsmen and community residents.

Oyelade praised the commendable work of the Amotekun Corps, Operation Burst, and the Nigeria Police Force during the incident.

He mentioned that the Police have already held discussions with Fulani leaders and the Yoruba community in the area, while security operatives remain vigilant 24/7 to ensure law and order.

He encouraged community residents to carry on with their daily activities without any fear or concern, assuring them that the situation is well-managed and under control.
