    Al-Hayat Relief Foundation Hosts 7th National General Meeting In Abeokuta Sunday

    The Al-Hayat Relief Foundation is set to host its 7th National General Meeting (NGM) at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Auditorium in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

     A  statement issued by Chairman Local Organizing Committee & Vice President, Al-Hayat Relief Foundation, Abeokuta Zone, Abdus-Semiu Adesina, read that the event is scheduled to take place on the 21st of April, 2024, starting at 10 am.

    Adesina  explained that the  NGM will feature distinguished guests and speakers, including Professor Abdur-Razaq AbdMajeed Alaro, a renowned professor of Islamic Law from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State. 

    He explained that Prof. Alaro will delve into the topic of “WAQF: Principles, Practice, and Management by Islamic Cooperative Societies in Nigeria,” shedding light on critical aspects of Islamic finance and social welfare.

    The statement further read that among the notable invited guests are Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, who will serve as the Special Guest of Honour, and Dr. Mutiu Olaleke Agboke, the Resident Electoral Commissioner of Osun State, who will chair the event. 

    Th statement read that other distinguished personalities include former Nigerian  High Commissioner to the UK, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola, the Olowu of Owu, Oba Prof. Saka Matemilola, and Alhaji AbdulWaheed Adedamola Oke, CEO of Dambold Petroleum, among others.

    Adesina in the statement said the  NGM will also recognize outstanding individuals with the prestigious Award for Ambassador of Islamic Finance in Nigeria (AIFN).

    According to him, recipients of this esteemed award include Professor Taofeek Ajani Salako, Dr. Asif Olatubosun Azeez, Professor Binta Tijani Jubril, Mrs. Fola Adeola, and Professor AbdMajeed Alaro.

    He said “attendance to the event is strictly by invitation, ensuring a focused and engaging gathering of stakeholders and experts in Islamic finance and social welfare.

     “The NGM promises to be an enlightening and impactful event, bringing together thought leaders, policymakers, and practitioners to explore innovative solutions and strategies for leveraging Islamic finance for the betterment of communities across Nigeria.
