Meanwhile,MultiChoice has attributed the price adjustments to the rising cost of business operations.
In his letter to customers, Ugbe acknowledged the potential impact of the price increase on subscribers but emphasized the company’s commitment to providing high-quality entertainment and service.
“We understand the impact this change may have on you – our valued customer, but the rise in the cost of business operations, has led us to make this difficult decision.
“It remains our mission to provide the best entertainment and viewing experience to you and are committed to continue to deliver high-quality content and unparalleled service.
“So, from Wednesday, 1 May 2024, the price adjustment will take effect as follows:
Despite MultiChoice’s assurance of continued delivery of premium content and service excellence, some customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the price hike.
Many subscribers, already grappling with economic challenges, view the increase as an additional financial burden, especially amid inflationary pressures and reduced purchasing power.
The announcement has prompted discussions on social media platforms, with some users calling for alternatives and expressing frustration over what they perceive as a lack of affordable options for accessing entertainment content.
