Small business owners in Ogun State have received a clarion call to actively participate in the ongoing verification and enumeration exercise across the state’s 20 Local Government Areas.

This exercise serves as a crucial step for accessing the Federal Government Nano Grant, aimed at bolstering the economic prospects of entrepreneurs in the region.

Mr. Adebola Sofela, the Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment, emphasized the significance of this initiative, urging traders to seize the opportunity presented.

He clarified that the verification process, which commenced on Monday, May 13, 2024, is scheduled to conclude on Friday, May 17, 2024.

Addressing concerns about the legitimacy of the process, Sofela reassured stakeholders that the initiative is authentic, dispelling notions of it being a scam.

He highlighted the collaborative efforts between the Federal Government and the Ogun State Government, emphasizing their commitment to uplifting small-scale businesses.

To facilitate the verification process, the Bank of Industry (BoI) has dispatched text messages to pre-registered individuals.

Prospective beneficiaries are required to present themselves at their respective Local Government Secretariats, equipped with their Bank Verification Number (BVN) and National Identification Number (NIN) for data capture.

Dr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, lauded the proactive stance of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led government in enhancing the welfare of its citizens.

He underscored the government’s steadfast dedication to fostering growth in both the industrial sector and small-scale enterprises.

Aikulola affirmed the government’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for business development, assuring continued support for initiatives aimed at empowering entrepreneurs and driving economic prosperity in Ogun State.
